How Effective Is Mace Pepper Spray?

This can also be influenced by drugs and alcohol. A person under the influence of drugs or alcohol will likely have a stronger tolerance to the effects of the spray.
Are Mace Brand Products Legal?
Mace products are legal in all 50 states; however there are some restrictions in certain cities and states that limit the size, strength, and type of Mace that can be legally carried and used. Can I Test My Mace Pepper Spray to Be Sure it Works?
Mace Brand Products do have expiration dates, so it's important to be sure that your supply is fresh. Every 90 to 120 days, you should test your Mace pepper spray. To do this, go outside and determine which direction the wind is blowing. Remember to always stand upwind from the direction you are spraying. Then, depress the firing mechanism for 1/2 second – that's it! Just keep in mind that with every test you're reducing the amount of Mace present. If you're using a smaller Mace product, remember to replace it every few months to ensure you have an effective supply.
